Audit and Accounts Senior

Salary range: £28,000 - £36,000 (according to experience)

The Position

We are looking for a full time nearly/newly qualified ACA or ACCA to work as part of a supportive team in providing professional audit, accounting and taxation services to clients. Someone keen to progress and develop their skills.

The role

You will be working within a team dealing with a wide variety of clients across many business sectors.

  • Working as part of an audit team on clients with turnovers of £50-£80m
  • Preparation of accounts for limited companies
  • Completing assignments within deadlines and budgets
  • Discussing queries and draft accounts with the client
  • Preparation of corporation tax returns and supporting computations
  • Mentoring and training junior staff
  • Representing Hobsons in a professional and efficient manner

Required skills and experience:

  • Competence and experience in audit and accountancy assignments
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in practice
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in statutory audit work, ideally within the SME sector
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and understanding of audit testing methodology
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations
  • Team player with self-motivation
  • Good communication skills
  • IT literate with experience of accounting packages
  • Full driving licence and own transport

Mixed Tax Senior

Salary £25 - £32K according to experience

The Position

We are seeking a mixed tax senior to assist with the growing tax department.

The role

You will be working within a team dealing with a wide variety of clients in both size and business sectors.

  • Responsible for managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients – providing a timely and accurate tax compliance service. This will include reviewing corporate tax computations prepared by accounts staff as well as preparing personal tax returns, capital gains tax computations and dealing with HMRC queries as required.
  • There will be opportunity for the right candidate to become involved in corporate projects and advisory work.
  • You will be involved with assisting in transactional work - including company restructuring and company sales.
  • Assist clients with specific advisory tax solutions.
  • You will be part of the tax department management team involved in making key decisions in developing the department.

Required skills and experience:

This role would suit a Semi-Senior looking to make a move into a Senior role with a progressive firm.

You will have extensive tax experience and preferably be ATT/ CTA qualified.

Accounts Assistant

Salary according to experience

The Position

We are looking for a fulltime Assistant Accountant (ideally Level 3 AAT and above) to work as part of a busy team in providing, accounting and taxation services to clients. Someone keen to progress and develop their skills.

The role

You will be working within a team dealing with a wide variety of clients in both size and business sectors.

  • Preparation of accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
  • Completing assignments within deadlines and budgets
  • Discussing queries with the client
  • Preparation of corporation tax returns and supporting computations
  • Representing Hobsons in a professional and efficient manner

Required skills and experience:

  • Understanding of double entry bookkeeping
  • Competence and experience in accountancy assignments
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in practice
  • High degree of numeracy
  • Team player with self-motivation
  • Good communication skills
  • IT literate with experience of accounting packages
  • Full driving licence and own transport
